Crystal Clear Water of Pupu Springs

Pupu Springs is a short for Waikoropupu. These springs are located in the South Island of New Zealand, west of Nelson, near Takaka. Pupu Springs are famous for their crystal clear waters. The water is so clear that you can see to the depth of about 30 meters from the surface!
The water that comes up from the underground forming the Pupu Springs, originates in the virgin forests many miles from here, where the water filters into underground Karst limestone river system. This water resurfaces in Pupu Springs and further out in the sea.

Hmmm…
Are people allowed to fill-up containers of this water and take it home or do companies draw it out and sell it?

I don’t think anybody can take water from these springs because it is protected. Maybe in the past. But I will double-check this.
