Top Five most common questions about renting a Campervan

1. Are campervans or motorhomes easy to drive?
Yes they are. The smaller campervans are not much different to driving a large sedan. The big motorhomes require you to take your time, approach corners more widely than usual and to remember they are higher, wider and longer than you are used to in usual car. And remember to be careful on narrow winding New Zealand’s rural roads.
2. Do I need a special license?
No! Your normal car license is good for all New Zealand’s campervans and motorhomes.
3. What is usually included in a campervan or motorhome?
All your cooking equipment, eating utensils, maps, extension cords (where appropriate) and instruction manuals. All other stuff you’ll have to bring with you.
4. Can I travel one way?
Sure! Most motorhome rental companies will allow you to pick up your vehicle at one destination and drop it off at another, since they have offices all across the country.
5. Do I have to take out insurance excess protection?
No, you don’t, but almost all rental companies will encourage you to do that. And if you want to have peace of mind, and be protected against the possibility of having to pay a big insurance excess in the event of an accident, you should.
